Kaori Hanzawa's Comic Girls Manga Gets TV Anime

Japanese merchant Rakuen is showing the cover of the August issue of Houbunsha's Manga Time Kriara Max magazine, which unveils that a TV anime adaptation of Comic Girl four panel manga by Kaori Hanzawa has been green-lit. The manga features on the issue's cover. The issue will be sold on Monday.

The manga's story tells about the 15-year-old high school student and manga creator named Kaoruko Moeta, who uses the pen name Chaos. After raking at the bottom of a reader survey, Kaoruko's editor suggests that she enter an all-female dormitory for manga creators. Kaoruko's roommates are shoujo manga creator, Kyoume Koizuke, teen romance manga creator Ruki Irokawa, and shounen manga creator Tsubasa Katsuki. The girls help each other as they work to turn into better manga creators.

The manga first released as a guest series in the magazine in 2014, and the series' regular serialization started out later than year. Houbunsha published the manga's second complied book volume in April 2016, and the third volume will available on June 27. The manga was a first-round candidate chosen for this year's Manga Taisho awards.
